|This is not a porn community!
||[25 Sep 2008|04:56pm]
Hey all just deleted that porn post. Sorry but we don't need this community shut down. I am certainly not anti-porn, but this community is for those of that love and worship Genitorturers and that post had absolutely nothing to do with the band whatsoever. I will continue to delete anything like that that continues to show up and in the future will report them to LJ staff.
|Dave Vincent arrested!
||[09 Jul 2008|07:36pm]
Gen posted on their myspace about Dave Vincent of Genitorturers and Morbid Angel getting arrested in Italy. Per her post:
I received an interesting call from our bassist Evil D aka David Vincent today from Italy. D is currently over in Europe on tour with his other band Morbid Angel. They had just flown in from a big festival in Slovenia to Italy where they were connecting to go to play in Athens Greece. Apparently the officials at the airport confiscated David's checked luggage and arrested him on "weapons" charges due one of his stage costume pieces,............ essentially a bullet belt.. that IS NOT even made of real bullets !!!@
Needless to say he was arrested, jailed and had to obtain a lawyer in order to be released... which thankfully he was in time to make his flight to Athens. so YES he will be at the festival tomorrow in Athens Greece.
Recently with Genitorturers I had a similar incident when we were flying back from our Australian tour. I had bought what i thought was a pretty fuckin cool ass "Bling" belt buckle that was essentially in the shape of a gun.. with bling diamonds all over it. I mean seriously. she asked me " Can you tell me about the weapon in your suitcase.? .. and i was thinking.. my riding crop? .. um my whip? ,,...strap on? what the hell is she talking about.?? The belt was in my carry on and the airport screener actually getting ready to arrest me as well until a more clear headed supervisor came over & took one look at the belt and laughed.
Anyway.. here is an excerpt from the news piece today...
Author and Metal Hammer reporter Joel McIver received an unexpected phone call in the evening of Tuesday, July 8 from MORBID ANGEL frontman David Vincent. "I was arrested in Italy today — and charged with a weapons offense," explained the furious singer. Vincent went on to explain that the veteran death metal outfit had arrived at Milan airport that morning for a flight to Greece, but that he was detained after customs officials found a bullet-belt inside his checked-in luggage.
Arrested and escorted by a group of 15 to 20 armed police officers to a holding cell, Vincent endured over two and a half hours of questioning before being released. "I asked them again and again if they were kidding," recalled Vincent, "but they said no. The belt is obviously not made of real bullets. Metal is clearly not fashionable in the fashion centre of Europe." The bullet-belt, given to Vincent in 1989 by the Earache owner Digby Pearson when MORBID ANGEL signed to his label, was confiscated and the singer was charged with an offense that translates approximately as "possession of contraband weapons."
Asked for a statement by McIver, Vincent replied: "My comment is this. For 20 years I've had my same friendly bullet-belt with me at all metal occasions. After 20 years of being a lawless individual, I'm happy that the Keystone Kops of spaghetti western fame have been able to show me the error of my ways." He was given a document requesting his attendance in an Italian court, with the date yet to be decided, and was required to contact a lawyer on his return to the USA in order to arrange his defense. "I doubt very much that I'll ever get the belt back," he fumed down the line from Greece, where his band are playing tomorrow evening (Wednesday, July 9). "We barely made our flight," he added. "We only made it to the plane because we make a point of showing up early at airports in case of bullshit like this."
MORBID ANGEL's upcoming new album currently in production will mark the group's first release to feature David Vincent since 1995's "Domination".

|New Dark Eden Song/Live at Oktotenfest 2006 (10/9/06)
||[30 Sep 2006|03:04pm]
Be sure to check out our (and by "our," I mean, my band, Dark Eden) Myspace page, to hear the new song, "Double Plus Ungood." Somewhat best described as Ministry meets Carcass, it's a song about the simularities between the current Administration, the Muslim Theocracies of the Middle East, the Third Reich, and Orwell's Oceania of 1984.
That and it's a really fucking fun song. Check it out.
Then come see us on October 9th, when we play OKTOTENFEST with Hanzel und Gretyl, Bella Morte, and Wykked Wytch, at the Knitting Factory NYC!

|Webcam/Porn Spam will not be tolerated!
||[25 Nov 2005|11:23pm]
I just deleted an entry that was just posted that was obviously porn/webcam crap and also reported it as spam so it can be dealt with by LiveJournal. The user has also been removed from the community.
As much as I am an open minded person and the Genitorturers are pretty blatantly sexual in nature, porn/webcam spam will not be tolerated in this community and I will delete it as soon as I see it and the user will be banned. I don't care if you promote your band just don't be promoting anything beyond that please. This is a community for sharing our love of the Genitorturers so let's try and keep this music and Genitorturers oriented. Oh and if I don't happen to see it please click on my profile and email me at the address listed since I am a co-moderator and I will take care of it.
If anyone has issue with this please speak up now.
|New member with some questions...
||[13 Nov 2005|09:18pm]
Hello, everyone, my name is Roxan and like all of you(hopefully!), I LOVE Genitorturers.
I was wondering though -- it says on the group info that to post, I have to mention my member number (or something)? What's that and how do I find out what mine is?
Also! The band member list isn't updated. Chains and Angel are obviously not in the band anymore. New drummer is Josh and the not-so-new guitarist (he's been the guitarist since 2002!) is the ever-lovely and awesome Bizz.
|Dark Eden/If Man Is Five - This Monday, November 7th at CB's 313 Gallery
||[06 Nov 2005|11:52pm]
Dark Eden, http://www.darkeden.org, are proud to announce our annual Late Halloween show will be taking place, this year, at Alchemy at CBGB's 313 Gallery. Not only is this a special night for us, as a band, as we always go all out for our Late Halloween performance, but we also realize this could be our last performance at CB's, with the pending court actions. This night will be a special night of darkness, lust, and the unholy hymns of Dark Eden. The band will give a very special prize to the person with the best costume, so dress up as if Samhain wasn't a week earlier...
We will also be joined that night by our very special guests, the amazing female fronted metal band, If Man Is Five. With a dark, aggressive music and operatic vocals, their album was voted "Best album of the summer of 2003” by regional music magazine 315, they are a more than worthy opener for what will be an amazing show.
Doors open at 9PM, with If Man Is Five, http://www.blackazul.com/ifmanisfive, going on at 10PM and Dark Eden at 11PM. $6 at the door, 16 to enter, 21 to drink, with music until 4 after the bands, if you aren't there, you will hate yourself and so will your offspring for generations to come...

Due to the same reasons I can't take care of this community, the announcement of my chosen replacement has come a little late as well.
After some pep talk from a friend, I've decided to keep the community (because I adore the Genitorturers so much) and try to take a more active roll, BUT since I still have the same ammount of time to maintain this community as I did before (little to none) I'll be taking on a couple of co-mods :) I've decided that I'd like both errlwayne & krypt_kitten to co-mod this community. Hmm.. yes.
( for the new modsCollapse )

Ok, so I've neglected this community for... nearly three years now? Something to that effect. It's about time I give it to someone who cares :D If you want it, reply, I'm not picky, I just don't want my name on it anymore. If I don't get a serious request in two weeks, kiss this community goodbye! :D Thanks.
